Prevocational Services
Developing worker traits, learning expectations, and creating documented pathways to competitive integrated employment.
Building the Foundation for Employment
Prevocational CPS is specifically designed to prepare individuals for competitive integrated employment. This includes developing appropriate worker traits, learning work environment expectations, conducting situational assessments, identifying available transportation to and from work, and completing work-related evaluations.
Two critical ODP requirements apply to all prevocational CPS: First, all participants must have a competitive integrated employment (CIE) outcome documented in their Individual Support Plan (ISP). Second, there must be ISP documentation regarding how and when prevocational services are expected to lead to competitive integrated employment.
Prevocational CPS can be provided in both community and facility settings, including licensed 2380 Adult Training Facilities — but the CIE outcome in the ISP is non-negotiable. This ensures that prevocational services always move toward meaningful employment rather than becoming an end in themselves.
At Covenant Partners Care, we take these requirements seriously, working with each individual and their ISP team to create clear, documented pathways from prevocational activities to competitive employment.
