Community Inclusion
Broadening lifelong learning experiences and building genuine relationships through meaningful community participation.
Beyond Presence — Building Belonging
Community inclusion under CPS goes far beyond simply being physically present in community locations. ODP's standard is clear: the test isn't 'did we go somewhere in the community?' — it's 'who are they going to get to know there?'
At Covenant Partners Care, we facilitate meaningful community inclusion through staff-supported participation in clubs, classes at community centers or community colleges, volunteer roles, interest-based groups, library programming, faith communities, civic organizations, and similar activities.
Passive community presence — such as driving by locations, going to movies, shopping, or restaurants — doesn't qualify as meaningful CPS even if it's community-located. Our approach ensures every activity is purposeful, relationship-building, and genuinely integrative.
The ultimate goal is developing lasting relationships between the individuals we serve and other community members, laying the groundwork for full community membership.
